I'm using Access 2003 and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise (recently upgraded from the non-Enterprise version). When I try to use DTS to import data from an Access database on a server drive, I get the following message in the DTS wizard:
"OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' reported an error. Authentication failed...The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user"
I got the same error after I created a linked server to another Access database and then tried to run a T-SQL query to select data from the table in that database.
These Access tables are updated daily by several dozen Access queries and we need to be able to use the data in stored procs. Why can SQL Server recognize Access sources?
