Can't edit reports

I had a database sent to me. I am supposed to make some changes to a report in this database but access will not let me edit it. I can't even view the toolbox or right click on anything. I can open the report in design view and I can edit existing text boxes but I can't add new text boxes. I also need to add a line to the report so that it can be signed after it is printed. If anybody knows why this is happening please post a response.

Have you gone into the mdb file properties and checked to make sure it wasn't set to "read-only?"

I checked the properties and it is not set to read-only, it is set to archive.

Not really without seeing it. Is there any way to delete all of the data from a copy and then send to me, or is it because the database itself is something someone wrote and doesn't want the structure shared with anyone?

It's always a good idea to post how you fixed it (I know it can be embarrassing if it might be something that seems obvious now) so that others, who might suffer the same problem in the future, might benefit from your experience.
