I have Office 2003 running on XP Professional.

I use ctrl+C and ctrl+P to cut and paste in Excel all the time. They worked fine yesterday. Today, when I try to use ctrlP nothing happens. When I try to go to Edit>Paste, Paste Special or Paste Hyperlink those options are grayed out.
The Clipboard Icon in my Standard toolbar is grayed out as well. I have tried closing everything and restarting my PC and nothing helps.
Th only way I can paste is to go to Edit>Office Clipboard, select an item and pick Paste from the pulldown. I havn't intentionally re assigned any keys, and if I had, I assume I could still access "Paste" from the Menu bar

ctrl+C and ctrl+P work fine in Word, I used them to edit this post as well, so it seems to be something I have done to Excel, but I can't figure it out and aside from wasting time, this is driving me NUTS! Can some body help me straighten out this mess?

Have you looked at the Tools->Options->Edit options?

Can't Paste... SOLVED !

After re-tracing my steps, I remembered activating an Add-In that would automatically recalculate the active worksheet. I had set the re-calculate rate to 2 Seconds. When the sheet re-calculates it would loose focus on whatever had been selected on the clipboard. Since Excel didn't see anything "Copied", it would gray-out the "Paste" Function. If you think about it, it makes sense, if I hadn't set the re-calc rate so low, I wouldn't have caught it.

But thanks for the Help, Ken.
