Change Data type while table in use (1 Viewer)

Hey,
Maybe someone could help me:
How can I change a data type of a field, with a macro or module while the table is being used by a form that related to it.

I need to do this because when i'm importing data from other program it doesn't give it the right data type.
please help me.

You cannot modify the structure of a table that is open. Rather than having the import make a new table, have it append to an existing table that has been emptied. That way, the data type can be predefined and as long as the data content is correct for the predefined data type you won't have any import errors.
