Chart and Pivot Table access 2013

Hi,
I’m running access 2013 and from what I read with this version of access we’re no longer able to create pivot tables or charts. Does anyone have any work around or examples that I would be able to create some time or work around?

I've tried creating pivot charts in Excel by linking my Access query, and then inserting the excel sheet into Access as an object. However, when I insert the object into the form and open it, it only allows me to make one filtering change and then freezes. This is highly problematic, as before my company would use various pivot charts in Access to filter out data based on current questions, (what month are we looking at, which department, what type of training, etc.). Why will it only allow one filter and the freeze, and is there a way for me to fix this issue? I, like many others have been completely lost in this regard since my company transitioned to Access 2013, and am essentially trying to figure out how to adapt dozens of databases with hundreds of charts to the updated version. Any help would be appreciated.
