Chart autofilling gaps between dates?

I've got a chart based on a query which shows dates from:

Short Date
Dec 2009
Jun 2010
Dec 2010
Mar 2011
Jun 2011
Jul 2011
Aug 2011​

When I try to run a chart off this data, it fills in the gaps between each of the dates (shows Dec 2009, Jan 2010, Feb 2010...).

How can I get it to only display the dates I provide to it through the query?

Nevermind, I got it. Had to change the X-axis from Auto to Category.
