Check Datatype and Field size in code (1 Viewer)

I have created code to import and excel file and create a table from that info. Now I need to confirm that the import has the correct Datatype of Number and Fieldsize of Double for one of the columns. Any thoughts on how to do this in vba?

will return the field type as a number
