Columns won't total-use NZ?

I have two columns of amounts in my report that I get totals on. The columns don't always show a total and it happends when one of the totals contains all null values. How can I get those columns to total? I have been reading about the Nz function. Should I use that? I've been expiramenting with Nz and haven't been able to make it work.

Thank you! It worked. But I forgot to put the 0 at the end and it still worked. Should I go back and put it in or will that matter?
