I have 2 combo boxes on a form. Both pulling data from a table of Employee names. The first picks the employee assigned as lead for a project and the second pick the person drafting the work. It works fine but I would like to have the 2nd CB default to the name picked in the 1st CB so that the lead is also the drafter unless another name is picked. Is this posible?

Yes. When you want to have a second combo box's available selections change based on something chosen in the first, these combo boxes are referred to as "cascading" combo boxes. There are many examples and posts about this in the forum. This is also a good article on the topic: Cascading Lists for Access Forms

I don't want the items in the combo box to change, I still want it to be the list of employees, I just want it to default to the same name picked in the first combo box so that it doesnt have to be entered twice. In this instance the lead and the drafter are the same person more than 70% of the time. I have the 2nd combo box available for the few times there is a 2nd employee involved.

OK then, you do need some way of telling the 2nd combo box what it needs to default to. The simplest way would be to use a single line of code like this in the AfterUpdate event of the 1st combo box:
Me.[2nd_combo]=Me.[1st_combo]

Work perfect, thanks so much for your time. I'm learning more everyday and I love that little rush I get whenever I get something to work.
