Combo box turns into numbers

Hi

I have a combo box which shows a list of company names from a company table. All works fine until i choose not limit it to the list (so I can add to it, when I add a new company), and then it shows numbers instead of company names?

Anyone know why this does this?

At the moment I can add to the list...

have the combo look at a qry and have the first field on the qry the compnay name and not the tableid number (might work)


so look at the source of the combo and change it to qry rather than table
clickon the ... in this field add your table (Company) then first field name second field number
now in your properties for the combo you need to change some of the optiotns header to 2 and have the size of the second one have 0.00cm (i am doing this without access open so some of the names might be wrong)


the why is that the combo looks at your table and it knows that the first field is id (autonumber) and skips this
however when you remove this limit to list/table it has no idea and you have to be a little clever and tell it , look at this and x
