Community Help Required please help! school database

Hi Forum,

I am trying to create a access database system which will show classes, students, attendance, progress report, teachers, departments etc...

i have repeatedly failed in accomplishing this database as i dont have the knowledge.

the place that i get messed up is for example the attendance, i want it so that i can select a date and then all the students associated with that class showup. so 1 date and a list of student only on that class.

another problem was adding a progress report for every class and individual students.

this is for a community based school which teachings on saturdays, there are over 15 volunters who do not get paid to teach but are still willing to give something back to the society.

i beg you guys out there, you all are geniuses!!! please help us design this simple system. please if somebody already knows where i can get a system like this free of charge then let me know ASAP!

geraintthomas, I totally agree with NPUser on this, NpUser Has provided what looks like a viable answer, but did you check it out? I think not! The other site you indicate utter access is excellent I agree. I am also a member there, I also answer questions there! I don't think people like posts in the wrong sections there either.

I remember the first time I saw this threads it was in the Sample Databases forum. Obviously someone has moved it to the right place but did not post any comments. I agree with NPUser too, he had also provided link to a reliable template of Classroom Management databse. But shivmahima seemed not quite enthusiatic in his (or her) project. I am sure that NPUser will reply again if shivmahima post questions regarding the above database template in the appropriate section.

Just Quick reminder thanks to all of you ignorant loosers out there this topic has side tracked!

Basically we accidentially put this topic on the wrong section, to some it felt as if we did it by purpose, well all i have to say is im not having or biting peoples head when they come in for treatment! you go to hospitals get lost and end up in the wrong section/ward, do the nurses or doctors snap at you?NO!

Anyway dont have time for ignorant people, as i have a job to do. i thought it help our community children as a majority of the are dixlextics/major health problems the government only gave use £3k when we applied for a £20k support. We're not on salary or any wages, we give our own time and even money so that these children will get someone where!! your ignorant NPuser! thank you for the person that has moved this to the correct TOPIC! we really thank you all whom have left some help, but unfortunately our classes will be closed down by the council next year as we do not have a monitoring system.

We will still work hard try somehow build a simple access system to monitor students,classes, teachers, registers, exams, enrollments, reports

the reason why i asked here was i was impressed on how helpfull this forum is (so we thought).

all we seek is a small system that shows the above, very basic system for registering students, reporting, classes, teachers etc...,

the microsoft classroom management is brill but we need a register.

From this comment I imagine you are a twentysomething spotty faced kid who will be in the job for five minutes and then disappear! How do I know? A couple of years ago I helped out with an MS Access database project through the agency of It4communities.org.uk my contact was someone of a similar caliber to yourself, and before I finished the DB he left, and no one else was interested in the project! Total waste of several months work.

We're not on salary or any wages, we give our own time and even money so that these children will get someone where!!

You are entitled to do what you like with your time and money as we all are.

I am sure everyone here will be willing to help you, as long as you show a small degree of interest in the project, which I haven't seen yet!

To get the help, you have to demonstrate some interest! Just posting a project that needs doing and saying how good it is, how much you are involved, how much you are committed, does not Infuse enthusiasm in others, it scares me quite frankly, a project like this needs a good leader, a committed person, obviously not you!

Yes there are alot of people helping my on this project from this board, and they all agree that some of the members of this board are very ignorant!

Concerning leadership, well I cant comment on that as ive spent most of my life as an TA (Territorial Army) Leader. I let you decide!

What do you think these children will give use when there older? well actually nothing! because its priceless what where giving them!all we want is for them to remember use what we are doing for them, and for them to help others in the near future. what if something happened to you? im sure youd want your daughter to achieve the success too!

once again this information has helped alot we've managed to complete our registration db, now we can successfully move on to how we can select a date so the register hows students on that date. Tanks to Uncle Gizmo we achieved a milestone!

nevertheless im not a 20 year old boy with your comment spotty, you make it sound as if a 20 year old boy whom has spots is a deprived community? that my friend isn't right!

yes we all have freedom to do what we want, so why shouldnt these children? We shouldnt be ignorant when we see others helping the needed, even if you dont.

about leadership well, worked most of my life as TA (Territorial Army) Leader. your computer or program leadership is nothing compared to that! infact many senior leaders in top IT companies come from the Army background!

as yourself wouldnt you want something better for your daughter? im sure anyone and everyone would, even in abbotswoods, sandleford newtown.
