Compact on Close

I have a DB with 7 users on a network, I'm thinking of switch the Front ends to compact on close.

A) Will this compact the BE.
B) Will this cause problems if one user closes and thus compacts the BE will the other users are still connected and using the DB

Compacting the front end does not compact the back end, thus it will not cause problems for other users.
