I'm an extreme access newbie. We're trying to make a database to use for mail merges in word.

I created a table with all the fields needed and a form to enter the data using the wizards.

The form will enter the data but once you close and reopen it you cannot scroll through the data recorded in the table with the record arrow buttons on the bottom of the form.

The data can be used in the mail merge but it would be nice to be able to go back into the form and edit data that has already been input.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Hmmmm. Not sure why this is not working for you. Try compacting and repairing the database. Try adding a command button, using the wizard, to move to the next record and see if that works. If all else fails try making another form and see if you have the same problem again.

Jack

YohoJones,

You may have a form property set to only display the current record or have not allowed updates or some such. Without knowing what you have directed to wizard to do and what version of Access you are using it is hard to give you better answer.
Could you possibly post a zip copy of what you have? :)

OOPS... did't see Jack's reply. That's a good idea.
Let us know how it goes.

I found out what the problem was.

In the form properties under the data tab it was set to data entry.

Once i switched it from yes to no the problem was fixed.

I'll be posting on here quite a bit I imagine. Thank you for your help and I hope to hear from you again.
