Hi,

I'm trying to come up with a database to track my fishing successes (or failures :) ) and basically to just learn Access. I have a question on how to set up tables and relationships for my fishing lures.

I have the following:

Lure Category (Live or Artificial)
Lure Type (Many)
Lure Description (Many)
Lure Color (Many)
Lure Size (Many)

Basically, there can be many TYPES under each CATEGORY (One-to-many?)
Many DESCRIPTIONS under each TYPE (One-to-Many?)
And a combination of SIZES and COLORS for each description. However, some SIZES and COLORS may not fit under each description.

For example, there could be:

Type: Spinner
Description: Mepps
Color: Gold
Size: 0

OR

Type: Spinner
Description: Mepps
Color: Silver
Size: 1

BUT NOT

Type: Crankbait/Jerkbait
Description: Floating Rapala
Color: Gold or Silver<<<<Doesn't exist
Size: 0 or 1<<<<<<<<<Doesn't exist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hope I haven't confused you too much!

I understand what you are asking, but it takes a lot of explaining.
I will help you step by step to build what you require, you can find my mail in my contact info.
I'm willing to lead you to your goal. Send me a mail and I will guide you through it all.
Let's find out which lure leads to the most fish.
Which Access version do you have?
