having problems with conditional formatting. i have created a report which is basically a list of projects. i want to highlight a blank fields in the reports so selected conditional formatting with the condition:
if <field>="" then
crred

but nothing happens. if change the condtion from blank to a character lets say "1"; highlighting works.

I suspect the field has characters which arent visible. I tried to edit the field and clear out data but couldn't find any.

can some one help please???:confused:

can you post a sanitised version of your DB for us to have a look?

-- sorry, just realised this is in the "Crystal Reports" section of the forum... sorry, i can't help.

The easiest way is to right click on the field and go to Format Field
Then clcik on the Font Tab under the Color and then go to the formula to the right X2 and format there.
But if you are highlighting the font the blanks will never colour as nothing is there. To get this to work follow the above steps but go to border and in the middle under border select your colour and go to the X2 and place formula in there.
Also I find if I have issues with the ="" then I try isnull(table.field)
Cheers
