Continuous Form...

Rich…

The application of a smiley does not absolve us of our words.

Given that Mick has already stated how he got the information then who should challenge that statement?

Just what statement are you making?

A more explicit explanation would be appreciated, at least by me.

Looking forward to your reply,
Chris.

I expect Mikey read one of my previous posts on overlaying text boxes, or even found one of the samples I've posted to achieve a muliticoloured continuous form using a single box ;)

Rich,

I assume your attachment is a solution....Is there some reason that you could not post it earlier in the thread?

Just thought I would ask since you did post on the earlier part of thread.

What effort would have been required for you to post your solution since you have indicated it was already on the forum.....that is, you did not need to make the solution since it was already done.

Mike

You mean post a link to save users searching the archives................now what response did I get from you the last time I suggested you look for key words?

But I thought you posted a zip file a few posts ago. What motivated you do do that. Why would you not post that early in the thread when you first posted.

now what response did I get from you the last time I suggested you look for key words?

Don't remember that. I do remember putting into action immediately a suggestion of yours to get a column of a 1000 numbers onto one page via a report. I also remember that you bailed right out when I asked you about converting big macros to code and how should RunMacro actions be handled. I also remember (may have been the same thread) that you told me that my removing duplicate records from different tables by appending to other tables with No Duplicate fields was all stuffed up. But when Iasked you for an alternative and after fully explaining the set upm again you bailed out.

You got some loose talk buddy. You need to start making data bases instead of 1000s of postings.. Time to throw the books to one side and start "doing it"

oh and you don't need to overlay textboxes in your case, so just to show I'm not vindictive,

set the format property to your single textbox to

#,##0.00[Black];#,##0.00[Red]

or for currency
$#,##0.00[Black]"Cred";$#,##0.00[Red]"Dr" etc.

OK Rich, here is the way I look at it…

Mike has said he uses A95.
No one has questioned his integrity on that, it has been accepted with ridicule.
(They may very well be questions of his wisdom, but after all, who would state that if they did not? )
But they do not question his integrity or the validity of his usage of A95.
First premise!

A person that uses A95 can not open an A97 database.
Second premise!

Mike’s answer was about foreground formatting on continuous Forms.
As far as I can see, your demo deals only with background formatting on continuous Forms.
Third premise!

The method you have used is traceable to at least Kevin Gray via Dev Ashish and was properly acknowledged as someone from "Youngstown State University”.
Forth premise!

So I read your answer as…
In the face of Mike’s reply you choose to go another way with your own reply…
I expect Mikey read one of my previous posts on overlaying text boxes, or even found one of the samples I've posted to achieve a muliticoloured continuous form using a single box

Logic seems like this…
Someone that can’t download your demo, ‘borrows’ information that it not contained in it and it would not have been your information in the first place.

Seems strange to me…

Regards,
Chris.
