Control Not Showing All the Data

Hi...No I don't see PARAMETERS in the SQL view

nor in the other query? And you are quite sure you don't still have a reference to the original in there somewhere? Copy and paste the sql to notepad, then do a find

Only other suggestion is that the querydef has become corrupted. Copy and paste the sql to a new query

No luck again. Before my previous response, I had actually copied and pasted in a word document and searched for both the word "parameters" as well as for the field name that the parameter box is requesting and neither were found.

I have been going thru the database and doing some house cleaning following the responses to my original post. Found some unnecessary queries that were making the db cumbersome. Luckily this is a copy of the db so if i accidentally deleted something I actually did need I can start over.

I will try again and post if I figured out what I did wrong...but at least the report is correct :) Thanks for your help with that one!

Ok…this is what’s happening.

Firstly, my DB is doing the opposite of what it should be. As per a previous suggestion, I removed the memo field from the grouped query, created a new query and added the memo field but it was still truncating.

I then did a cleanup of the entire DB and removed what appeared to be unnecessary steps, created the query again WITH grouping including the memo field which is set to Last and there was no truncation when I ran the query.

The memo field is in the table TBLDwgRegisterDtls and is named RevNotes.

In the query QRYSmryDwgRegRpt, RevNotes, in datasheet view, is now LastOfRevNotes but in design view it is just RevNotes.

In design view of the report, the field is LastOfRevNotes. When I run the report, the parameter is asking for RevNotes. If I hit ok without entering a parameter, the report runs correctly with all information showing in the memo without truncation

if this is a report - check your sorting/grouping in the report

Found it!! :D

I checked the queries yet again. So as Minty and you advised earlier it was the grouping. I checked the the design view of the report's source query and realized it referenced a query that the grouping was already applied to. So the source query was repeating the grouping.

I turned off the grouping on the report's source query and no truncation; ran the report and no parameter dialog box and most importantly...NO TRUNCATION!

Thanks so much for everyone's help...report working correctly now. :)
