Control Tip Text flashing (5 Viewers)

Which form(s) are we looking at?
Books is not flashing for me on Title and Publisher, Comments etc.

However they seem slower than even my quick addition to one of my dbs.
Access 2019.

Only Books. The control tips do display, then?

Yes, no flashing, just very slow.
Slow, I would expect. It's in a subform and maybe there's some other stuf involved because of that. It should still work though.

I'm repairing my 32 bit Office installation now, in case it has something to do with that. As I noted, it works as expected on my other, 64 bit, installation.

I am on 32bit.

No flashing/flickering of control tip texts on form "frm_Edit_Publications" here on Access 2019 64-bit fully patched.

It's beginning to look more like my specific computer.

I fired up an older laptop with Access 32 bit runtime only. The control tip texts work correctly on it as well as on my 64 bit installation. So it's down to this specific computer and installation.

Thank you all.

I know you don't want to spend any longer on this than necessary, but if you are still having problems, consider using one of the alternative methods in this article:

I finally tracked it down to a certain extent.

It appears to be related to the fact that I have a 4k Hi Res monitor.

I got it to display correctly briefly by dropping the refresh rate to 25 Hz, although it quickly reverted to the flashing mode.

So, I am pretty sure it is caused by the combination of resultion and refresh rate. With that conclusion, and knowing that it displays properly otherwise, I'm not going to fret about it.

Maybe useful info for the large monitor support project though, if someone else can replicate the problem with a monitor like this one.
