I've never had this problem before. I placed a new unbound combo box in the header of an existing form. Works fine but it will not stay where I place it. I put it exactly where I want it in Design view but when I go to Form view it moves about two inches to the right. Please help!

Have you checked the properties of said Combo box ? Also look at properties of Header section. I take it, it moves when you open the form in Form view ( rather than design ) ?

Yes, the change occurs when I go from design view to form view.

The control is in the form header. But, I have other controls in the form header and they all act correctly.

I've looked at the properties of the header and control and don't see anything unusual.

Thanks,

Joe

Two suggestions :-
1. Move the problematic combo box, to a location of another control in the header section, that does 'stay put' and vice-versa i.e. that control to where the combo box was. Now open form. If the combo box stays put, it looks like its the 'location' that's causing the problem ( a new one on me, but anyway .... )
2. Delete current combo box, and place new one on the from , in the desired location ( it may help to note any related properties such as , e.g. Top and Left at the design stage) You can name it EXACTLY the same as old one, so VBA code recognises it. Good luck.

P.S. Are you sure there are no hidden controls, lurking behind it, ( maybe set to invisible ! ) ?

I tried moving the box to the body and the footer. Does same shift to the right. I even tried removing it and creating another one and it does the same. I'm going to just let it go for now. Not creating a big problem. Thanks for your help. If I figure it out I'll let you know.

Create a brand new form ( blank ). Place a new combo box on it, ( where you want the one you're having trouble with i.e. in the header ) - and NOTHING else. Now open the form. Does it stay where you put it ? If yes, select ALL the other controls on your current form in one go, and either copy or cut, and paste them onto your new form ! Problem solved.
