Is there anything I should know before I try to convert 2000 to 2003? Can 2003 read 2000? I looked on the Microsoft site for info and found none.
Thanks

Microsoft quote:

You can use an Access 2000 database or Access 2000 project (Microsoft Access project: An Access file that connects to a Microsoft SQL Server database and is used to create client/server applications. A project file doesn't contain any data or data-definition-based objects such as tables and views.) in Access 2002 or later by simply opening the file— no further action is necessary. You can make design changes that take advantage of features new in Access 2002 or later. When you open the file in Access 2000, any functionality specific to Access 2002 or later is simply ignored. You can make design changes in Access 2000. When you open the file in Access 2002 or later, the design changes that take advantage of feature specific to Access 2002 or later remain intact in most cases.

As far as what MS says, I find the "...in most cases" the most interesting!
I have recently been involved in converting a db created in 2000 and then going to 2002. And IN MOST CASES things seem to be working ok. However, I have had some strange errors occurring and sometimes I am not able to replicate them. Best advice I have had is: If you create the db in 2000 and then convert it to 2002 (I don't know about 2003) never go back!!! Keep one version for users with 2000 and another for 2002. This can be a lot of work but I fear instability when going back and forth. Hope this is of some help!
