Convert Excel Serial Date format to Access Date format?

I have a spreadsheet in Excel, which automatically converted all of my text dates to serial dates (01/01/2001 to 36526) and stores the information this way reguardless of how I format it. I am trying to import this into Access and it won't recognize my dates as being dates.

How can I get this to be a Date/Time field in Access?

Try importing the dates as the integers they appear to be.

Then go back and in design mode, change the format of that field from LONG to DATE.

Unlikely, since there is a non-trivial mode conversion involved. You could do it with VBA code, but not through any of the Wizards. They do good work but are limited in scope 'cause they are dumber than a box of rocks.
