I have a DB that is split and secure

After I converted I notice a couple isuues

When adding a new user there was a couple Forms and Query's I notice I had a couple of new forms that was listed in the navigation paine. Since I design the DB I know I didn't built them.

Also, I can delete them or rename them. Any Ideas there?

I also notice I had a couple of forms and queries that I could not modfy.

I had to import new some new forms from backup to make them work.

Then I notice I lost some macros.

Here is the bottom line. I tested them first using 2010 and they work ok. Went to copy to the network drive tested them again using 2010. Still ok working on my machine.

To activate the changes I have a script running to where the users log off and log back in to capture the changes. Now the users are still running with 2007. So I new it was converting from 2007 to 2010.

If any changes are to be made I have to use 2007 not 2010.

Any ideas what may have happen.

Thanks all

I just created a form yesterday, went to modify the form today and could not save any changes.
Received an message

"Name conflicts with existing module, project or object library"

As stated before just converted from 2007 to 2010.

I read a thread that mention the same problem. It sounds like I have to create a New DB and import all the objects. Also I read that you can only have a limit amount of objects in the DB.

Is that true for Access 2010?, and if true does anyone know that number?

I can see this is going to be a fun thread. I just try to delete a Module and it won't let me. Why is that?

Some good questions at that.

For the object limits, type "Access Specification" into the Help file search.

If you can't delete a module, make sure it isn't running in the background.

Not sure about some of the other stuff but I have found that converting to 2010 is best to import into a new 2010 shell instead of trying to convert. Remember, you can select what you want to import so you don't have to import everything at once when you do that. That might help you troubleshoot some stuff.

SOS, you have solved some other problems I had in the pass so thanks for the quick responce.

I don't know to much about these References but, I notice on my references I selected "Microsoft 12.0 Object library. Should I now select MS 14.0 Object Library? Since running with 2010. Don't want to get to crazy changing stuff that I am not to sure of myself.

If you run it on a 2010 machine it should change it by itself. But I prefer to use late binding so I don't need to set any references to any Office object. So, you might explore that option.

You can try some different things in order to get it to work, including changing the references manually. Kind of hard to say as it really depends on what stuff you are using in your database.

SOS, the one thing I don't understand is how a query was created, but does not show up in my navigation screen, but it shows up when adding a new user. I can't give rights that user to that query, due to I didn't create it. I am the only admin for this DB.

I guess the bottom line how can a query be created if I didn't create it?

Thanks again for all your input

Post a screenshot showing what you're talking about. I read through this thread and I don't understand what you're talking about - query appearing that you didn't make, etc.

Sorry Bob I have not got back to you. Been pretty busy here. Here is one message that I did receive.

I meant a screenshot of these supposedly mysterious appearing objects, and of the navigation pane, not the error message.

Bob, I don't know how much this will help Here is one from the Reports menu. If you see there is a "Q" report have no clue what that is. I can't modify/edit any of my orginal forms and reports. I did check my permissions and the box is check to administrator permissions.

So here is the bottom line, if I have to modify a form/report I have to import a copy of the form/report and save as a different name of form/report.

I can delete the forms and reports.

How strange is that.
