Hi all,

I have never used Access to create charts and graphs before, I have always found Excel to be the better tool for that particular job. As a consequence I have never really learned how to do charts in Access at all... But...

I have been asked to get one of our more complicated reports to come straight from Access so they can have instant access to the info (rather than exporting the info to be processed in Excel).

I just wanted to know, and I'm thinking it's a long shot, is there any easy way to copy a chart from Excel and put it into Access? The basis data is identical, essentially I just need to convert the formulas that make the Excel Charts into an SQL query for Access, but this would be a manual effort for some 15 charts...

Any tips to save time? Otherwise wish me luck!

Thanks all :)

It is an old 2009 article, it goes through the manual process of Embedding (not linked) an Excel Chart into Access reports.
It might serve to prove if the newer versions even support this or not.
And, if it can be done manually, then it should be possible with code.

I don't use Access Reports for years now.
All my data from Access/SQL Server are programmed into custom Excel reports using Excel Object Model VBA code. Sorry I can't be of more help. Just saw you were not getting any suggestions.

I haven't even clicked the link yet, just wanted to say thanks for the reply :D

Please update us with what you find. You are one of those using Access 2013 so it will be interesting to many of us and future users.
Let us know if you get down to a specific question for coding one of the steps.
One of the questions that appeared in many post was how the Excel Chart stopped appearing in Access. It was there, just not visible. So, keep a watch for that too.
Good Luck
