I created a form that when it opens it shows data from a query linked to a table. On the form I have a command button to opens a workorder form that is used to create work orders. How can i get the information from the new form when it opens to be copied over to the work order form when I click on the open workorder button?

The button on the frmBayDownReport that says open new workorder is the button i am trying to get to add the data from the frmBaydownreport to the new workorder form. I have enclosed a copy of the db.

Where? The fields don't match up so, where do you want the Reason Code and Down Date to show? I also cannot *play* with no Work Orders table.

I was wanting the bay number and reason code info to show in the: Description of work to be performed box. The date would not need to be entered. I have included the work order table.

My *day job* is getting in the way but I will review and get back to you... just didn't want you to think I abandoned you! :D

Have added the line, you can see it by examining the code in the Event Procedure of the Command Button.

As a side note, I would eliminate the spaces in your field names and name the controls on your forms something intelligent that reflects the field name in the tables. Text3 isn't going to mean anything down the road. For other ways to improve your database, have a look at...

I sincerely thank you for all your help. Unfortunately when I took this job these databases already existed and they are so intertwined and spiderwebbed it is extremely difficult to muddle through them. I have built a few of my own(very simple) databases that don't require as much to administer as these do....

Thank you once again.

Glad to help! (Oh well, I guess you have to keep them like that just thought if you could...)
