Hi All,

Back in February I had posted that I had made numerous changes to my form and all of the sudden it started to only show some of the records. I tried changing all of the settings, that I could remember, back to the way they were and I still had a problem. Someone suggested I might have a corrupted form/db.

I found a copy of the form in a copy of another db and used it. It would work for a while and while I jumped back and forth between design and form view it would happen again. I would get another copy of the form and so on. It seemed to finally be stable but I haven't been doing much design work for the past couple of months.

Today, I changed the underlying query and it happened again. I changed the query back and it didn't revert back to itself. I closed the db and reopened, nothing changed. I shut down Access, I've rebooted my computer, and still I have a form not showing all of the records. The underlying query is correct.

My question is this--if this is a corrupt form, wouldn't it have failed earlier than this? Why would going back and forth between design and form view cause any problems (if this indeed is the problem)?

Thanks

Are you sure it isn't just the Filter property of the form.

If the design is saved with a filter on it will stick.

Hello Galaxiom,

That's good to know! All subform containers have the property 'filter on empty master' set to 'yes'. All subforms have 'filter on load' set to 'no'. I haven't changed the property 'filter on empty master' so I think that's the default value for a subform container. The main form's 'filter on load' is set to 'no'. Are there any other filters to look for?

This form, with subforms, was working great until I read an article about how to prevent users from going around form view. I made those changes and some tweaks based on another article regarding appearance and now I have problems. I can't remember the articles or all of the changes I made so I keep having the same problem.

Thanks

Hi Galaxiom,

I think you're on to something but I'm not sure where to look. My basic design is for a neighborhood.

Address (main form)-->Family (subform M/C = addressID)-->People (subform M/C = familyID)

The people have designations based on relationships within the Family--primary, spouse, or child. When my form misbehaves it is only showing me the primary at each address. If I change a primary to a spouse then that record disappears from form view.

If my underlying query is correct, then why would I only see the primary person for each address? It does sound like a filter but I don't know where else to look.

Thanks
