I seem to be having more issues with corruption in the last 2 weeks Access 2000). This has been happeneing over several different db's. My laptop is about 3 years old. Could problems with the pc be part of the cause?

Thanks,

I've had similar problems once. My network card was the problem. Do you have problems with databases on network or databases on your hard disk.
If network only, try a ping on the server you're linked to.

Here is how to ping, should you need it:
Start button
Execute
Type "cmd" (without the quotes)
Click "OK"
In the DOS window, type "PING SERVER" where SERVER is the name of the server where your databases are.
In the four lines that appears first, second to last column, you see the time it took to reach that server. It should be very low. Anything over 40ms is too long. Usualy it says "<10ms"
In the statistic line, at "LOST" it should be "0%" anything else is problematic.

The problems are with db's on my hard disk only. There have been 2 other hard drive crashes with machines of similar vintage in the last few weeks, so I think I'll dump everything to the network drive.

Thanks,

Mary
