Hi

I am to create a table to store my company details.

Below are the field name that i store single facts about my company:

Our_Name
Our_Address
Our_City
Our_Address_Post_Code
Our_Post_Box
Our_Post_Box_Post_Code
Our_Country
Our_Phone_Number
Our_Phone_Number_1
Our_Fax_Number
Our_Fax_Number_1
Our_Email
Our_Logo

As we have more than one phone and fax numbers, hence i create two fields each to store those numbers. Is this correct? Also, is my table that to store my company details correct?

Thanks in advance

what if you have 3 or 4 phones ?
I think you should store them in linked table.

That's correct smig, one-to-many.

ID (Autonumber or Number), CompanyID, PhoneNumber

It might just be worthwhile pointing out that it's a good idea to avoid using reserved words such as Name for object and control names.

Hi all,

Thanks for your respond.

Since those phone and fax numbers of our company is constant which will print as letterhead in report and not required to mix with other info of our customers, suppliers and employees. Is it still necessarily to create another table to store phone and fax numbers? If so, shall the said table also include customers, suppliers and employees phone and fax numbers?

Thanks

Well, I guess since the numbers are your company numbers and they will never change then there really isn't any need to further normalize.
