I have a system in place that records various controlled widgets in and out of the warehouse.

usual things, like the supplier, the stock code, description, qty, batch and expiry date.

together with who we supplied the widgets to with similar data.

I have to track the daily in and out of each widget but stock code and batch number and keep a running total so we can quick stock check the controlled widgets each day as required.

for accounting purposes the widgets are invoiced and purchased through SAGE, and I use the sgae tables as a reference for the stock monitor system so thinks like stock codes and descriptions are consistant.

However, there is an external requirement to track these widgets movements and SAGE wont do this with enough graularity for batch codes and expiry. Hence the new Access system.

I realise it may be a bit of overkill to record such data again in another table but I cant see how to track running totals with the tables etc I have inplace now.

Your advise would be appreciated
