A contact of mine has a simple access database of about 2000 past business contacts, consisting of Name, Address, email address and a couple of other fields.

He occassionally emails the whole list and sometimes sections of it by laboriously C&P-ing individual email addresses and not surprisingly want so speed this up!

I've got nowhere with Access Help or online tutorials in finding a neat solution to this, but I'm sure there must be one.

All clues welcome. please.

Mark,

Thanks for that.

I really need taking back to square one, though, compared to other threads I have found.

Not close to starting to work it out, I'm afraid.

All the postings on other threads I have seen (quite a few) start at the point of getting some code right.

I am at the point of not even knowing which bit of Access people are talking about!

Access Help is also a tricky area when I don't know what terms I need to search on!

It's a similar positions with all the tutorial I have found.

I am stuck.

Basicaly all I need is the name of the table that holds the email addresses and the name of the field that holds the actual email address.

Post that info and I will help you do the rest of the code and tell you where to put it.

That would be totally excellent, thank you, Buk.

The database belongs to an associate of mine, so I don't have the info you ask for to hand.

I'm probably seeing him on Thursday and can get it then.

Does it matter what email software he uses?

It may. The SendObject works with Outlook and (I think) Netscape mail as long as it is configured right. Other then that I am not real sure so it may take some trial and error to get it working.

any chance i can get a look at this code too?? I have a db with a tbl with contacts and email addresses and a type... say construction, IT, legal etc... in it (tblcontacts) i want to be able to email these contacts from outlook but be able to add an attachment too.
i have a form that allows you to select the type of contact (construction or IT or something) and i just want to email the contacts in tblcontacts with type = IT or whatever i choose.

Hi Lyns

I posted a couple of samples in this thread if this helps you any, option 2 might be best for you as it takes an attachment.
