Crosstab query

Greetings,

I was trying to design a query based report to indicate the member of applicants whose case are denied each month and what % are denied within 10 business days, average # of days etc. How do I go about designing the crosstab query?

First rule of ANY query, cross-tab or otherwise:

Do you have all of the data elements you wanted to see already available (directly stored or computable, either one)?

If not, just remember a query can't tell you anything not supported by the data tables on which the query is based.

OK, if you can pass that hurdle, the cross-tab wizard is pretty good for just counting up records with particular criteria. Now the way I would consider this one is to perhaps build a first-layer query that computes anything that needs computing - e.g. the "denied within 10 business days" question. Next, build the cross-tab query based on the first-layer query. Let IT do the sums and averages for you.
