currency problem

This is probably a basic and stupid question, but here it goes.

Can I have in a currency field in my table with values in both dollars and pounds?

Or maybe the real question is: can I somehow identify if a currency value is in pounds or dollars?

Take a look in the Help menu for "currency", subtopic Format Property.

This may or may not help you but I got around this problem by setting my currency field to a number data type and then adding another field which held a value list of the three currencies I use : Sterling; Euros & US$

That way each record had the currency identifier and I can then perform queries to retrieve data on the relevant currencies.
