Custom error message not working complete

Hi all,

I have created an custom error message on my form.

When i fillin all the fields and hit enter i get the custom error message when filling in duplicates.

however i also have 2 arrows for the record selection.

When i fillin all the fields and instead of hitting enter go to the next record i get the system error messages instead of the custom.

What am i doing wrong?

Please show us some code --where you set up the custom message, and a sample of the data that causes the custom message to show and not show.
