I have a custom toolbar in my application. However, it isn't visible at the top of the application window and when I try to make it so - via View - Toolbars - it doesn't appear on the list of available bars.

I had assumed that I had somehow deleted it, but I know it's still present somewhere, as when I try to recreate it, I get a message saying so.

How can I get the toolbar to be displayed?

Tools/Customize

or right click on toolbar and cuastomize

or

view /toolbars /customise

you should then get a list of the toolbars in the application.

highlight the one you want and select properties - allow showing/hiding and show on toolbar should make it available for you.

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, that's where the problem lies. I can view the list of all available toolbars, but the one I made isn't in it. When I try to create a new one with the same name, however, I get a message that says

'A Toolbar named XXX already exists. Type another name.'

I don't understand how it can be there if it isn't on the list?

Could it be that toolbar XXX has been saved as a short cut menu bar?

Stupid question: How would I tell that?

I'd created it in another database, then imported it - along with various forms - into my current database. In the original db, it was visible in the list.

Follow the steps above to look at the properties of ANY toolbar. Then once in the properties form of a toolbar - look for toolbar XXX in the "Selected Toolbar" dropdown.

Absolutely no idea. Perhaps something to do with the fact that it was imported?

I followed your last instructions to check it was in the list, created a new menu, and assigned it the properties of the 'missing' one. I could then see the 'missing' one in the full list of available menus.

Still, I've saved the instructions, so if it happens again, I'm sorted.
