Hello everyone.
I am currently updating our old Access DB 2003 to 2013 and wanted to make a few modifications along the way.
I would really like to allow users to leave notes for each other on a front page. This front page form does not have any underlying table to it as it is only used as a switchboard.
My question is, is it possible to have some sort of memo or text box that users can enter notes into that can be easily viewed from the front switchboard and then they can delete/update the notes as required?
As this is a stand alone form, what are my options?
I'd be grateful for any input anyone can offer?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Still would have a table, with atleast two fields, the Memo filed and the Date the note was entered, so the textbox can use DLookup to get the appropriate note for the day !

If you only want to display 1 note pr2's method is exactly what you need. If however you want multiple notes, you would still use his table structure, but for display purposes you would use a sub-form with a continous view.

Thanks a lot guys!
I did try a new table just to hold the notes a few days ago, but couldn't get the display to look right on the form.
Although I do need multiple notes, they will mainly be deleted after being read.
I will try this again with continuous view and see what happens.
What is the maximum characters I can have in the long text field? I thought it was 255 but I recall someone somewhere saying that it was possible to increase this?
Thanks again for taking the time to help newbies! I really appreciate it.

In 2013 the Memo field is replaced with Long Text, and Text is just 255 limit. So set the field type as Long Text. The size will be bigger than 255.

Thank you very much for your input. I really appreciate your help.
The updating is now being put on hold for a week or so so I'll try out your recommendations when I get back to it.
Thank you again.
