Hi everyone!

I'm working with three tables: tblclient, tblassessment, tblchild.

tblclient is linked one-to-many to tblassessment.
tblassessment is linked one-to-many to tblchild.

I've got three forms: frmclient, frmassessment, frmchild.

What I'd like is when the client opens frmchild, he can select a client and one of that client's assessments from a drop-down menu. That way, the data entered on frmchild will be linked to the specific assessment.

I'm having trouble constructing the correct combo box. I'm not sure if this can be done in a single combo box, or if I require two - one for client selection and one for the assessment. The queries I've created give me the client's names, but also every assessment - not just those specfic to a given client.

Can anyone help on a truly glorious sunny Saturday?

That works very well! Sadly I don't think it will work for me as things stand now - I seem to be missing the bit that connects tblChild with tblClient. I think I need to mess about with this more before I ask another question. Thank you very much for your help!

OK. I looked at it a bit more and here is what is happening. When I select a date from the combo box, tblChild is not being updated with the tblassessment ID, if that makes sense. Is there a way to enable the user to enter the tblassessment primary key into the frmChild?

Did you get this fixed? I'm not clear on the problem. Typically a form and subform would be kept in sync with master/child links.
