Thanks for the website. I its a good source. but i cant find the code im looking for.
i need code to clear all text fields on a form and start new.
Ive tried the gotonew record but it still saves the info. i need it to not save the info . thanks

I found it. i think ive found everything to finish my database. but i need hel with 2 things.
The MS Database Temlate "Students" has a form called "Students List" it has a field that has "new" in it and when clicked it opens a form to add a new student. if theres already a student there the field says "open". this is in Access 2007 and i cant get the code or anything to work with my access 2003 database. can you help.
and i need to add security to this database. so certain staff cant access the design view and change anything, they only need to add and edit data . thanks

I helped debug and maintain an Inmate Legal Library Scheduling System.
I would be interested in taking on your project to help you learn.
My expertise is in Access 2000. Which is real close to Access 2003.
But, this is time sensitive. I start school full-time in 2 weeks. So, my help time frame is the next ten days or so,
Yours is a simple project. I would be happy to put something together in a proper format using your fields and the forms and queries you desire.

What do you want me to do for you? I saw tables and fields without any primary keys nor relationships indicated. I saw that you want some type of search page to display what info?
What forms do you want? Do you want a page displaying the inmates basic info, so you can see who is in your database? Click on an inmate, see all of his details. Add new, edit current selected, delete. Sort by what? SID? Asc/Desc? Name? Asc/Desc?
