Database doesn't like to be shared too much

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on a problem...

We have a database which is shared between four to five people. When there are only four people, there are no real problems, however when the fifth computer is using the database, it experiences corruption problems all the time - between 3 and 15 times a day. The message is something like "this file is not a database object or needs to be repaired. Repair database now?" (this is not the exact text but a rough translation as my computer is french.) The problem then is that everyone in the office needs to close their Access, while the databse is repaired.

Maybe the amount of users has nothing to do with it, but I have noticed such a pattern. I have tried changing the actual PC but this makes no difference.

Thank you for any help or advice.

As a starter - make sure that all the users are using the same version of Access and are not re-configuring it to their version if its different.

You may want to Create a front-end

You may want to give each user their own front-end...with links back to the shared data.

There are a plethora of reasons to do this, going forward you won't regret doing so.
