database driven html

Ok, so I want sure where this one would lie.

I am experimenting with the idea of a dynamically driven website, so that the html pages are populated by data sourced from a database.

What in your minds is the easiest way of doing this. I do not have the time to learn mySQL, I have tried that approach and it is too time consuming. Dont get me wrong though. I will work hard if someone can suggest a working methodfor this.
