Database Error (1 Viewer)

I have created a database for inventory control. It has been working fine, but now one of the tables will not open. Every time the table is selected (or referenced) the error message:

"This object requires a newer version of the Microsoft Jet Database Engine."

I have downloaded all of the updates to Office 2000 (which is what I am using), and I am have Jet 4.x. I cannot determine what is causing this error, or how to possibly salvage the table.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried creating a new, blank database, and then importing all of your objects into it? I find that it is usually one of the system files that has corrupted to cause this problem. Creating a new DB will re-create all of the system files.

I have tried that, but when I attempt to import in to a new database, the table "Items" still gives me the same error that a newer version of Microsoft Jet Database Engine is required.

Thank you for the idea....
