I have an access database with about 15 users. Each one has a frontend DB with all queries, forms, reports. And one main backend DB on a file share.
Usually once every couple weeks my users will get "database locked" error and cannot continue.
Default open mode is set to 'Shared'
Default record locking is set to 'No Records'
And the checkbox for "open dbs using record-level locking" is CHECKED.
Is there anything I can/should do?
Should the backend db be setup differently?
What causes the DB to become locked?
Would it help if I disable users from going into design view of forms & reports?
Would it help if I disable them from moving columns around in datasheet forms?
thanks.
