Database won't open

I'm completely perplexed...

I have a database application that I have developped over the past 1-1/2 years in Access 2007 at the facility of my client. I have Access 2010 on my laptop. The application works great on their computers. The application will not, however, open on my laptop. I have a startup splash screen followed by a login form. I don't get any kind of error message but when I click on the database, the mouse pointer turns to the hourglass. After about 3-5 seconds, the title of "Microsoft Access" that is located in the middle of the software disappears and then it moves to the right side and adds (Not Responding). This stays on the screen for about 10-15 seconds and then the screen flashes, and the Microsoft Welcome Page opens with no sign that I was trying to open a database.

I have ensured that the location of the front end and back end are both in trusted locations, I uninstalled my Charter Security Suite software, I turned off the Windows firewall, I tried to open it holding down the shift key, but nothing seems to change it.

Any ideas?

I would create a new database container and try to import all the objects in...

When I do that, I get a couple of errors that say "Name conflicts with existing module, project or object library" This error is then followed by "No Current Record" which is followed by "Could not find table..." The database works flawlessly before I try to run it on my laptop. I am running it on 13 different PC's and 6 different laptops - none of them have any problems with it. I must be something with either my firewall, timeout setting.

Another strange thing - today, when I was at their office today, it would open on my laptop. I was connected to their wireless network but not tied into any files on the server. I opened and closed it 5 times with no problem. The first time I tried it when I got home - no go. And perhaps the most frustrating thing is that I get no explanation or warning or error - it just acts like it never tried to open it.

We use charter internet so I don't know if it has something to do with the wireless network at home. With that being said, I took my laptop many miles from home and it still would not open.

I have tried to repair office and that didn't work either.

@XT,

You hqve tagged your question iin to someone's thread, please start a new one so you can benefit of everyone AND because I don't want there to be confusion of whom I am *talking* to...

Yes there are linked tables, but before I transferred the db to my laptop, I deleted all of the linked tables. Once I copied it and confirmed that it worked, I linked it to tables within a be database on my laptop.

How did you relink them? Have you run the Linked Table Manager?
