Date and Count

I have a report from a query which includes the date of each order. I sort the dates in the report ascending. All is fine until I add a Count in the report footing (just to count the numbers of orders in the report). The Count is correct but the records are no longer sorted correctly by the dates. Access 2003. Cheers.

Yep, that did it, I had thought that sorting the query wouls have carried over to the report, much appreciated.

its a good trick isnt it. you would think the report ought to take the same sorting as the query, but its independent. I'm not sure what it is by default, becuase obviously the records ARE in a particular order
