date field problem

Hello,

I am having difficulty copying and pasting a column of date data from Excel into Access.

In excel, I have changed the datatype of the column into Date(short date format) and I did the same thing in Access.

When I copy the column from excel to access, I get a warning saying invalid datatype.

How should I get around this?

Firstly you don't copy and paste into Access. You import the excel sheet into access then format is to whatever you want via query?

Or if you are going to be using the same excel sheet in the future then link the table and perform the format when query that linked table.
