I will try these suggestions tonight - hope this solves the problem.

Could you please let us know your outcome. I am sure there are many interested in your progress.

This is a rare problem so your experience would be of help when next it raises its ugly little head.

As you are running Access 2003 do you have all Service Packs installed plus the Hot Fix.

BTW. In my opinion and that of many others 2003 is the best version Microsoft has written with 97 as the second best.

So put off moving to 2007 or 2010 unless you are put into a position where you need to keep up with the latest.

I have checked the service packs and installed the hot fix with no good results. I still have one XP computer that I can connect to the POS server and use 97 on it until the computer dies. I don't know what else to try and still suspect there is a conflict between 2003 and windows 7. I had our IT guy work on it for about an hour this morning and he gave up. Thanks to all who have tried to help. I really appreciate your input.

Did you do the fix where Microsoft claims that this is a Bug.

Or maybe you could remove 2003 from the computer reinstall and allow it to automatically update.

Next thing is to test on a different machine. You could post it here if it is not too sensitive. We would only need the tables and that particular query.

Is this on a Machine that has both 97 and 2003 running.

I see you have had enough for now. You may wish to come back in the future.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck and have done the Microsoft fix. This is running by itself on a windows 7 64 bit machine. Since I can get the info I need off an old XP machine hooked to the server I think I will give up until the XP dies. The IT guy suggested I contact the local community college to see if they have an Access expert that can come look at it. I may try this and if he or she is successful I will let you know the solution. Again thanks for everyone's help. This has been quite a journey especially for a non computer person.
