Date/Time Problem

I am creating a database for booking room reservations. If a person books a room from 7:00am - 10:00 and then another person wants to book the same room from 8:00-9:00, I want to be able to tell them the room is unavailable. Any ideas on how to do this?

Here's my first thought

create a field call it BookFlag or whatever.

then when the room is booked, add code to make the BookFlag field = 1, (add the flag against the room and time slot) then add code to check this flag
e.g.

If Not IsNull(BookFlag) Then
MsgBox "This room is not available for the time you requested"
Else
book room stuff
End If
