I've often wondered if I've been doing my queries correctly and after following the link to Access VB SQL advisor provided by Pat, and seeing a comment on the very thing I've been wondering about, I've decided to ask.

How often do you find yourself using multiple queries (queries on queries) to get your final result? How deep is your deepest query? I occationally have instances where it has taken 5 or 6 to finally pull out the info in the format I want.

Am I just naive and sloppy or does it depend on the circumstances?

My queries are generally at most, 3 deep. Those are not typical though. That's only when there's some complicated relationship like a self-join type situation. 5 or 6 deep sounds pretty serious. I'd like to see an example of that. :)

The more I look at the queries, the more I think if I was better at code there'd be a lot less. I'll post an example Monday- I'm just about to bolt for the weekend.
