Default "JC527" ???

Hello all
I have one question,
I have a table with 5 fields and one of the fields I need a default “JC527”
( Column name empnm ) ( Data type char ) ( Length 6 ) (Allow Nulls has a check in it )

I try to put in the Field call empnm Default Value =”JC527” Not Working ????
Can Someone help me…

Accres 2002 and Ms SQL 2003 Server

In SQL Server Enterprise Manager (v2000), this worked as a default value:

('JC527')

SS added the parentheses itself, I just typed in the value with quotes around it.

Probably your double quotes causing the issue here. SQL SERVER uses single quotes for text values
