Question Default Scanner

I've read a lot of thread about barcode scanners, but I'm unable to locate a thread on how to call up a default scanner. I have an office with 17 workstations and each may have a different scanner. I would like to know how to if there is software that I can call up from a button on an access form, and then scan a document into a PDF, then save it in a folder of my choosing via code. Does this exist? and how do I do it?

I just want to clarify:

Are you saying you want to use a bar code scanner to make a PDF file?

If that is wrong (which I assume), you should use keywords "twain VB automation" or "twain activeX" on google. You'll get plenty of hits. Refine the search with various forms of PDF and see what you get.
