I set up security on one of my access databases and now I have to enter a password everytime I open Access. Once Access is open I can go into any database I want to. I don't want to have to logon everytime I open Access. What did I do to cause this and how do I get rid on the logon scree. I am the only person in the company that has to logon everytime Access is opened.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Did you "join" your new secured workgroup?

You should not join a workgroup. You should use a custom shortcut that has the security info in the target field of the shortcut.

You should rejoin back to your Sytem.mdw file to remove the logon mess you have.

I hope that you did not modify your System.mdw file and used that for your new secured workgroup. If so, you have created a few problems that will require some undoing. Search this forum for "security" or "ghudson" for I have answered a few threads about that problem.

I checked the security wizard to determine what path it was using. I did actually modify the system.mdw file, but was able to fix it by mapping to another computer that had the original system.mdw file. I just right clicked and dragged the original file to the folder my altered copy was in. This was I was able to orerride the mess I made with a clean system.mdw file. It works great and was a pretty easy fix.

Thanks,
