Delete key wipes entire field

Working in Access 2003, in a field placed on a form, full editing is allowed.

When I go to delete a portion or back space to delete some values, the entire
field is emptied.

But, if I muck about within the field, moving through the entry, then it
will let me delete or backspace as I would expect it to do.

What do you guys/gals think?

Have you applied the Office 2003 SP3 update yet? If so, have you also applied the HotFix?

Don't have the SP3 on my system yet, but had passed that
along to some comrades that had other problems and that fixed
those nicely.

So not sure what to do with this, it didn't seem to do this before
that I can recall at least.
Thanks for the tip there though,
G2

Have you tried inporting your db into a new db and then do a Compact and Repair. Maybe there is some corruption.

When I go to delete a portion or back space to delete some values, the entire field is emptied.

This is the normal behavior if the field is selected, i.e. the data is highlighted in reverse display, white-on-black rather than black-on-white. Are you saying that it behaves like this when the data in the field isn't highlighted? If so, I'd have to agree with Allan on the corruption and his advice in the previous post is probably your best bet.

Correct it is not highlighted, as that would be all selected, it is a brandy new
database, so not too old, I'll try importing and see if that clears the problem.
Thanks,
G2

Turn off Name AutoCorrect in the new db before you do the import.

We didn't ask, but is this happening on all textboxes on the form? Is it happening on all forms in the database?
